Google will stop accepting online gambling advertising certification applications through its Help Center on 19 November 2026. From that date, new applications must be submitted through the advertiser’s Google Ads account. Requests filed before the change are not affected.
What affiliates need to prepare
The change applies to more than operators. Gambling comparison websites and affiliate publishers also need certification when advertising gambling-related content in markets where such promotion is permitted. Applications are required separately for each target market, and approval in one jurisdiction does not automatically cover another.
Google’s requirements include age and safer-gambling information, terms and conditions, relevant licensing details and, for affiliates without their own gambling licence, a footer clarifying that outbound links lead only to operators authorised in the relevant market.
The update changes the application channel rather than the underlying licensing standards. Affiliates should check account access and documentation before the 19 November deadline. Google’s policy page reportedly still contains some older Help Center instructions, so advertisers should verify the route shown in their accounts.
