Plaee was at SBC Summit explaining how established operators can offer prediction markets without having to build their own techstack
Prediction has been the defining buzzword of the betting and gaming sector over the past year — viewed by some as a threat, and by others as a major opportunity. Plaee is one of the companies building the infrastructure behind that global shift.
Ahead of SBC Summit Lisbon, Plaee, the turnkey, prediction-native infrastructure provider that enables operators to launch standalone or embedded prediction markets globally, signed a partnership with Optimove. This marks its entry into the mainstream of the global gaming and betting industry.
Optimove, a player-engagement and CRM provider whose clients include bet365, Entain, Kindred, Stake, PENN Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment, gives established sportsbook and casino operators a turnkey path to offer prediction markets – without having to build their own techstack.
“Prediction markets are increasingly entering the mainstream, and the growth trajectory is remarkable,” said Shani Eichbom, Chief Marketing Officer at Plaee, at SBC Summit Lisbon. “The category is on track
for more than $300bn in annual notional volume in 2026 – with industry estimates projecting it toward $1tn by 2030. It’s the fastest-growing new trading category, and it’s only just getting started.”
Much of the conversation at events like SBC Lisbon still comes down to education. The consumer appeal is straightforward: the ability to take a position on the outcomes of future events, from award shows and politics to weather, sports and even baby names. Because prediction markets are peer-to-peer, there is no house risk – but getting the mechanics right brings operational complexity of its own.
“Gaming companies can see the opportunity and don’t want to be left behind, but they want to enter the prediction sector the right way,” Eichbom explained. “Plaee was built to remove the three biggest barriers
to entry for operators: regulatory complexity, access to liquidity, and product development.”
A partnership with Crypto.com, struck earlier this year, lets Plaee offer operators federally regulated, event-based markets at scale. By integrating Crypto.com’s CFTC-regulated exchange and deep institutional liquidity into Plaee’s stack, the partnership bridges the gap between entertainment technology and regulated financial markets.
That regulated focus runs through Plaee’s wider partnerships. Timed to coincide with SBC Summit Lisbon, Plaee announced the addition of a new strategic partner: ProphetX, a sports-focused, CFTC-regulated prediction market exchange. Betting and gaming brands now have another compliant option to offer prediction markets without having to build the entire techstack themselves.
“Plaee is a prediction-native platform,” said Eichbom. “We’re not a trading or gaming platform with a feature bolted on. We give operators – whether a sportsbook, trading platform, crypto exchange or media brand – everything they need to run their own prediction market, with the ability to launch in weeks rather than quarters.”
Plaee’s turnkey platform brings together three core components. First, regulated markets and liquidity: CFTC-regulated markets in the US through the Crypto.com partnership, and global coverage through Plaee DPM, the company’s proprietary DeFi prediction-market exchange. Second, Prediction Trader – a complete white-label trading interface, that can be deployed as a customisable widget or a fully branded site. Third, PlaeeOS – its user-management, engagement and monetisation platform.
Plaee positions itself between consumer venues such as Kalshi and Polymarket and the operators who want in – offering a B2B, CFTC-regulated route into the category. Its message at SBC was simple: most operators need more than tradable contracts. A customisable trading experience and real engagement and monetisation tools will be essential for any new entrant looking to win in prediction markets.
