Free Me South Africa (FMSA) has announced a strategic partnership with gambling-blocking technology provider Gamban, integrating its software into FMSA’s Workplace Gambling Harm Reduction Management System.

The collaboration will enable participating employers to provide eligible employees with access to Gamban’s technology, which blocks gambling websites and applications on supported devices. The service will be offered through an employer-supported licensing arrangement, complementing FMSA’s existing workplace education, awareness and early-intervention programmes.

Pierre van Staden, Chief Executive Officer of Free Me South Africa, said: “This partnership allows us to combine Gamban’s digital protection technology with our workplace prevention framework, giving employers practical tools to address gambling-related risks proactively.

“Our focus is not simply on blocking access to gambling. It is about creating healthier, more resilient workplaces through prevention, education and meaningful employee support.”

Matt Zarb-Cousin, Co-Founder and Director of Gamban, added: “Employers have an important opportunity to support employees who may be experiencing gambling-related difficulties or who want to take preventative steps.”

The organisations will also explore joint awareness campaigns, employer education, webinars and research initiatives, supporting FMSA’s efforts to incorporate gambling-harm prevention into workplace wellbeing and behavioural risk-management strategies.
